This song predates ANY song in the catalogue. Brian wrote it as a teenager and now he's... not a teenager. The song got resurrected during a recording session a few years ago on a lark. The band heard it and wanted to run with it. Brian balked at the idea of making it part of the set as he felt his teenage lyrics were far too silly now. As fate would have it, Alan Mayer, one of the producers of the WE SHOULD TALK album was on hand to hear the band run through "Thursday" after which he jumped up from his seat and shouted "YOU HAVE TO DO THAT SONG!" Brian had the band vote. He voted against doing it, and lost that vote. We now have THURSDAY as part of this new album.
