about

Here’s a new song. Originally called “Constellation 2” because it calls back to the song “Constellation” from the album THE LAST GOOD HIGH, Kevin Hartman felt it was too much a song in its own right to be merely a sequel. I changed the title to “13 Stars.” Kelly then sent me the files for these recordings and had it titled “Curvature of yer bones.” I thought it was a much better title. It’s a great performance, too!

lyrics

Fine caresses
Stealing away at dawn
Messages on the phone
Meet me at points unknown

Can’t you see that
I’m an erroneous man
New in this perilous land
Bendable in your hands

I’ve seen everything that you have to show
I’ve been everywhere underneath your clothes
I’ve felt the curvature of your bones
I’ve meant everything you ever have been told

Constellations
Scatter across your skin
The roses are from within
Saintly, yet full of sin

You set foot
So sudden, the universe turns
I’m watching the things you burn
Like you are something I earned

I’ve seen everything that you have to show
I’ve been everywhere underneath your clothes
I’ve felt the curvature of your bones
I’ve meant everything you ever have been told

Rewards come for
Writing you into this song
What it comes out wrong?
What if it’s way too long?

Thirteen stars
They hover above your head
Seven beads in bed
Bringing me from the dead

I’ve seen everything that you have to show
I’ve been everywhere underneath your clothes
I’ve felt the curvature of your bones
I’ve meant everything you ever have been told

Everything
