Pin Stripes Fan Account Very glad to have found this fine album. You can really hear that it was recorded live. It's raw with full of energy, but also great melodies and high quality songs. Feels like your in the studio with the band when they are playing.

about

In early 2014, Brian found himself wandering aimlessly about the country, listless, with no band. Barley Station had made an abrupt halt following the release of the DAMAGED GOODS album. On the darkest New Mexico night following transportation issues, he sat down with Las Cruces residents LaMarcus Drysdale and Dannny Crust and hashed out a few tunes in skeletal fashion. The beginnings of "Paper Goddess" and "Missionary Millionaire" were taking shape. The latter tune being co-written by Casey Wollberg but the idea in Brian's head that his co-writing friend should be a part of this. After much haphazard planning, Brian along with Drysdale, Crust and a pair of other desert musicians arrived in St. Louis to slowly hash out over the next 13 months what would eventually become a full album. FAR TO ROAM plays like a jam band record. The idea was to capture everyone in their most raw form. Songs were limited to 3 takes to prevent the sterility of over-rehearsing. Sometimes it's magic, sometimes it's tragic. The tunes, however, speak for themselves and speak to some fairly deep subjects, such as religious faith, romantic faith, faith in community.

In 2021, a bonus item was made available to those who purchased the album on Bandcamp. The music video for “Fallen” has been added.
